PEHSU National Website & Intranet

A national network of experts in reproductive and children's health issues related to environmental exposures

Protecting children's health. Connecting ten regions. Building one national home for the network.

The Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSU) are a national network of experts in reproductive and children’s health issues related to environmental exposures. Ten regional units, each tied to an academic institution or hospital, serve families and health professionals across the country. PEHSU needed one national website that could serve both audiences and connect each visitor to the right regional unit, while behind the scenes, regional staff relied on email to get content published.

Back Pocket Media rebuilt pehsu.net as a national hub, launched in April 2025, with clear paths for families and health professionals, a searchable resource library, and an interactive map linking to a profile for every region. Now three years into our partnership, we’ve kept expanding the site as the program grows, adding a Spanish-language structure, a section for the Childhood Cancer & the Environment Program, and a members-only intranet that gives regional staff a shared expert directory, calendar and resource hub, plus forms that turn their updates into drafts ready for review.

The result is a website that helps families and clinicians find trusted guidance and connect with their regional PEHSU, backed by an intranet that keeps the whole network working from one place.
