The Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC) is a network of more than 40 clinics and 150 individual members dedicated to worker- and patient-centered care. Its most important job is connecting people with qualified clinics, but its old website made that hard, and keeping clinic information current depended on a process members struggled to keep up with.
Back Pocket Media redesigned aoec.org around that task. Working sessions with AOEC staff and board members shaped a simpler site organized into five clear sections, centered on a member clinic directory with a searchable map. Each clinic maintains its own profile, including services, locations, appointment options and insurance, through simple front-end editing. Since the site launched in April 2024, we’ve trained AOEC’s team to run it themselves and continued to support it as new programs come on board.
The result is a network that’s easy to find, and a small team that can keep the site growing on its own.

What we're most proud of:
the member clinic directory that lets each clinic maintain its own profile, services, locations, and appointment options while visitors find care near them on a map; the clear five-part information architecture that organizes decades of programs, training, and resources; the hands-on training that turned AOEC staff into confident site managers; and the reversible approach to clinic links that let AOEC retire stale listings without losing a single member profile.
